The National Consumers League is excited to announce the upcoming 16th Annual LifeSmarts National Championship. Run in a fast-paced gameshow format, the National Championship is a fast and fun event where student teams representing more than 30 states compete for the National LifeSmarts Champion title.

All competitions and LifeSmarts activities will take place at the Miami Beach Resort.
All teams should stay at the Miami Beach Resort.
Travel Information
Local Airport: Miami International Airport (MIA)Ground Transportation: One-way taxi fair from MIA to hotel for up to 4 people is $35 per cab (15-20 minute trip). One-way Super Shuttle service is $22 per person (trip can take up to 1 hour), roundtrip is $44 per person.
Hotel Rates: $159/night for all room types (singles, doubles and quads). Sales and room occupancy tax apply.
Meals
- All meals listed on the agenda are free of charge to team members, coaches and co-coaches, volunteer officials, LifeSmarts state coordinators, LifeSmarts Advisory Board- and National Consumers League Board of Directors-members and National Consumers League staff and invited guests.
- Meals not included on the draft and final agendas are "on your own".
- Guests traveling with teams must register and pay in advance if they wish to eat meals with teams. Guest registration form forthcoming.
Guests
LifeSmarts National Competitions are free and open to all who would like to observe and cheer players on to victory. The National Consumers League reserves the right to limit the number of guests due to space considerations.Volunteer Officials
Volunteers make LifeSmarts possible, by sharing their time and expertise with the young adults and coaches who participate in the program. Volunteers receive daily orientations before competitions begin. Learn more about volunteer roles at Nationals. If you plan to volunteer at the National Championship, please complete a Volunteer Registration Form and submit it to Brandi Williams.Sponsors
Prize items and Goodie-bag inserts ensure that LifeSmarts competitions are especially memorable for LifeSmarts teams. All sponsors are acknowledged on our Web site and in participant packets at National Competitions. Sponsors making financial contributions of $10K or more to LifeSmarts are also recognized on banners than hang prominently thoughout National Competitions.- If you plan to sponsor prize items or goodie-bag inserts, please complete a Pledge Form and submit it to Brandi Williams.

Activities
Monday Evening Event: Poolside dinner and dancing for LifeSmarts participants. The National Consumers League thanks American Express for sponsoring this event.
Team Photos: Please follow the schedule provided in the final agenda. Teams are encouraged to bring props that represent their state or school for these photos.
State Champions and Sister Teams
A list of all state champion teams will be available on this Web site (forthcoming). Each team is assigned a Sister Team to enhance mingling and cooperation. Teams will receive advance notice of Sister Team assignments prior to arrival.
Competition Format
Each team has an equal opportunity to advance to the semi-finals. Please note that the 2010 LifeSmarts National Competition format has changed, and a new model will be used. All teams will compete eight (8) times and team scores will be cumulative through Monday. Read the New National LifeSmarts Competition fact sheet for details.
