Welcome to the LifeSmarts JV!
You asked – we answered! With thanks to American Century Investments, the National Consumers League is pleased to launch a separate Junior Varsity Web site for LifeSmarts...The Ultimate Consumer Challenge.
This exciting new component to the LifeSmarts educational program expands the consumer education opportunities for middle school students by offering students and educators a completely separate Web site and online competition devoted to them.
Students use LifeSmarts to expand their consumer knowledge in the core areas of personal finance, health and safety, consumer rights and responsibilities, and technology. To get started, click here.
Educators use LifeSmarts to develop the consumer and marketplace skills of middle school students, engage them in consumer topics, and reward them for the knowledge they gain. The program complements any school curriculum and can be used as an activity for classes, groups, clubs and community organizations. To go to the JV Coach’s Corner, click here. To access LifeSmarts resources, please click here.
The new Junior Varsity site will remain open through February 22, 2008, in most states. Eight state coordinators will hold in-person state competitions for their JV competitors, and the online competitions in those eight states will close a bit earlier. Please click here to check the dates for your state.
We are pleased that you are participating in the first year of the official JV LifeSmarts competition. As we continue to build the middle school program and content, we’d love to hear what you think – please send feedback to lifesmarts@nclnet.org.
